I think the key lies in critical m. You arent going to be successful until you get a ton of people. You wont get a ton of people until you are successful. The problem is you have a ton of competition and it seems like its very easy to get dating software. If you are serious about it, I think the only way to succeed is to create some sort of Niche. Start in one very very small geographic market, or target a very specific type of people. Maybe do a University dating website, where you need to have a Uni E-mail address to signup. I think you can get tons of people for that.
