An error with my wireless connection?

I have a new wireless routers a LINKSYS by Cisco model WRT110 I have installed it to my laptop computer and clicked on go wireless and then an error popped up saying Exception has been thrown by the target of an invocation and the only thing to click it cancel and I clicked it and it was saying please wait... process may take a few moments then it say under that please wait while wireless network settings are retrieved .this may take a few moments. and I've waited and waited and waited and if not doing anything but saying that.
